A clear class scale—not a diagnosis by itself.
The laboratory reports specific IgE concentration and a class from 0 to 6. Higher classes indicate more specific IgE, but do not by themselves predict how severe a reaction will be.

No fasting is required for this allergy blood test. If you book other blood tests at the same time, their preparation instructions may be different.
No. This profile measures allergen-specific IgE associated with immediate-type allergic reactions. It is not an IgG food sensitivity or intolerance panel.
Not by itself. A positive result indicates sensitisation and must be interpreted with your symptoms, exposure history and clinical assessment. Broad screening can produce positive results that are not clinically relevant.
Cross-reactive carbohydrate determinants are sugar structures found in many plant and insect proteins. IgE to CCDs can contribute to broad or misleading positive patterns, so the marker provides useful interpretation context.
Blood allergy testing can be used in children, but appropriateness and interpretation depend on age, symptoms and clinical history. A parent or guardian should discuss testing with MedEx or the child’s clinician.
